Winston Peng (President) and Tan Eng Hoo (MyTRIZ president) hosted TRIZ Master Dr. Sergei Ikovenko. Risk Innovation Leadership Huddle 2019
Risk-Innovation Leadership Huddle
SCRP believes that enterprise risk managers should extend their role beyond identifying and assessing risks to actively faciliate in solving them. To explore structured innovation methods, SCRP held a Leadership Huddle in Kuala Lumpur with Dr. Sergei Ikovenko—a global TRIZ Master with over 100 patents who has transformed many leading multinational companies. TRIZ, the Theory of Inventive Problem Solving, addresses challenges through 39 conflicting attributes and 40 inventive principles, offering a systematic framework for risk managers to drive innovation and practical solutions within organisations.

National Regulatory Sandbox
Building on its earlier initiatives, SCRP was mandated under the National Regulatory Sandbox to lead the Ministry of Health’s Online Healthcare track—an emerging sustainability risk where regulation lagged behind technology. The Sandbox aimed to bridge this pacing problem by reviewing 17 outdated healthcare laws, including PHFSA Act 586, which restricted telehealth and home-based care. Through five sessions with MOH regulators, SCRP produced a reform proposal and budget later approved under the National Budget 2019 to modernise Malaysia’s digital healthcare framework.

Sustainability Roundtable on Biosphere
Building on its early momentum, SCRP advanced from national fiscal issues to Malaysia’s emerging sustainability agenda—barely three years after the Paris Agreement and before most institutions recognised its urgency. True to its role as a society unafraid of complex risks, SCRP convened a three-day expert roundtable bringing together leading environmental experts, energy executives, rating agencies, regulators, and NGOs. The event bridged sustainability and enterprise risk management, positioning SCRP as an early mover in integrating these critical domains.

SST Expert Roundtable
In August 2018, SCRP entered the scene by addressing the most pressing issue among the business community—the government’s reversal from GST to SST after just 3 years. While most remained silent under statutory constraints, SCRP convened the SST Roundtable for experts to share their views. The Malaysian Institute of Accountants was invited, though all attended privately. Findings were submitted to Minister of Finance's office under the SCRP banner. With the political climate now settled, we can acknowledge the initiative and that the experts’ concerns proved well-founded.
