SUSTAINABILITY ROUNDTABLE - BIOSPHERE

The Society of Certified Risk Professionals partnered with Sustainable Development Solutions Network Malaysia in organizing a 3-day expert roundtable to deliberate on issues surrounding water sustainability, oceanography, sustainable material, waste management, renewable energy, biodiversity and land use. The sessions were led by Malaysia's top leading environmental scientists, including officials from the Ministry of Energy, Science, Technology, Environment and Climate Change (MESTECC) and Ministry of Water, Land and Natural Resources (KATS).

The 3-day roundtable was recorded via Auto Transcription Script technology that captures video based on audio input tracking and transcribes the content automatically. 60 participants from different domains (Government, Industry, Academic and NGO) attended the roundtable and identified some crucial sustainability challenges that they are facing. SST ROUNDTABLE

Upon request from various NGOs in the accounting and tax fraternity, SCRP hold a roundtable on the Sales and Service Tax Bills that were being tabled in Parliament. SCRP assisted as a neutral professional body to facilitate discussions on the risks and impact of migration from GST to SST from economic and social standpoints.
The day-long roundtable was held at Universiti Malaya and was attended by stakeholders representing leaders in taxation practice, economics, accounting professionals, and representatives of government agencies. One of the nation’s pre-eminent thought leaders in taxation facilitated the discussion as the Roundtable Chair.

Significant issues that had not been covered in parliamentary debates was discussed at the roundtable. SCRP has prepared a paper of the roundtable dialogue for future deliberation by the lawmakers.
